9-1-1
(Tune: " Mary Had a Little Lamb")

9-1-1 is the number to call,
number to call, number to call.
9-1-1 is the number to call
When you need some help.

...add other things like:
 - when there is a fire
 - when someone is sick.

Five Strong Policemen

Five strong policemen standing by a store.
One became a traffic cop, and then there were four.

Four strong policemen watching over me.
One took home a lost boy, and then there were three.

Three strong policemen dressed  all in blue,
One stopped a speeding car, and then there were two.

Two strong policemen, how fast  they can run!
One caught a bad man, and then there was one.

One strong policemen saw some smoke one day.
We called the firement who put out the fire right away.

Traffic Policemen

The traffic policeman holds up his hand. (hold up hand, palm forward)
He blows the whistle,  (pretend to blow whistle)
He gives the command. (hold up hand again)
When the cars are stopped (hold up hand again)
He waves at me.
Then I may cross the street you see.  (wave hand as if indicating to go)

Dial 9-1-1

Dial 9-1-1
You'll hear them say
That helps on the way.
If you need help, you know what to do --
Call the police and the fireouse too.
Just dial 9-1-1, that's what you do.
Dial 9-1-1.

I'm a Police Officer

I'm a police officer
With my star,
I help people
Near and far.

If you have a problem,
Call on me,
and I will be there
One, two, three.

If You Get Lost

If you get lost someplace in town,
Don't talk to a stranger.  (shake head)
Look for a police officer
To keep you out of danger.

Tell her what your name is
And where your home is too. (nod head)
She will help you get back home,
Or bring your mom and dad to you.

Friends in the Neighborhood

One mail carrier (hold up 1 finger)
Driving down her route. (pretend to steer wheel)

Two firefighters (hold up 2 fingers)
Putting fires out (pretend to sweep hose)

Three trash collectors (hold up 3 fingers)
For the trash you've tossed (pretend to toss trash)

Four police officers (hold up 4 fingers)
Help you when you're lost. (hold arms out, palms up

All our friends in the neighborhood (put arms out to the side)
Helping you out -- isn't that good?  (point to children then nod)

Pick Up the Trash

Here comes the truck (sweep hand from left to right)
Rumbling down the street (slap hands quickly on legs)
Put on the brakes (pull back with both hands)
Jump to your feet (jump)
Lift the can up high (lift arms overhead)
And dump trash in (lower arms straight out in front of you)
Crush it and smash it (Clap on "crush" and "smash")
Then to the next bin (march in place)
One house, then two (hold up one finger, then two)
Till the street's all done (sweep hands out to each side)
On to the next street (march in place)
Now wasn't that fun? (Nod head)

Hurry Hurry
(Tune:  10 Little Indians)

Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck
Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck
Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck.

Hurry, hurry, ring the bell
Hurry, hurry, ring the bell

Ding ding ding, ding ding.

Hurry, hurry climb the ladder

Hurry, hurry climb the ladder
climb, climb, climb, climb, climb.

Hurry, hurry squirt the water
Hurry, hurry squirt the water
Hurry, hurry squirt the water
splash, splash, splash, splash, splash.

Little Firefighter
(tune:  I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a little firefighter on the go
Here is my helmet, here is my hose.
When I see a fire hear me shout
Turn on the water and put the fire out.

The Firefighter

This firefighter rings the bell (thumb)
This firefighter hold the hose so well. (index)
This firefighter slides down the pole (middle)
This firefighter chops a hole (ring)
This firefighter climbs higher and higher (pinky)
And all the firefighters put out the fire!

Firefighter

Five brave firefighters
Sleeping so, (hold up a hand with fingers flat across palm)
The fire bell rings,
Down the pole they go.  (open the hand and make a downward motion)

Jump in the fire truck
Hurry down the street
Climb up the ladder  (make fingers climb)
Feel the fire's heat. (wipe sweat from your brow)

Five brave firefighters (hold up 5 fingers)
Put the fire out (make a wiping motion)
Hip! Hip! Hooray!
All the people shout! (shout)

Firefighters
(tune: Pop Goes the Weasel)

Down the street the engine goes
The firemen fight the fire
Up the ladder with their hose
Out goes the fire.

The Firemen Song
(tune: The Farmer in the Dell)

The firemen are brave,
The firemen are brave,
Heigh-ho what do you know,
The firemen are brave.

Fire Safety
Tune: Frere Jacques

Never, never play with matches
If you do, if you do
You might burn your fingers
You might burn your fingers
That won't do, that won't do.

Never, never play with fire
If you do, if you do
You might burn your house down
you might burn your house down.
That won't do, that won't do.

Never, never play with fire
If you do, if you do,
You might burn the forest
You might burn the forest
That won't do, that won't do.

Fireman Number 8

Fireman, fireman number eight (two circles on top of each other with hands)
Bumped his head upon the gate (Touch head and slap hands palms together)
The gate swung in (swing prayer hands one way)
The gate swung out (swing hands other way)
That's the way they put the fire out (swing hands back and forth both ways)
Emergency, emergency 9-1-1 (marching, say this 3 times getting faster and faster)

Fire Safety Song

What do you dial if there's a fire,
What do you dial if there is a fire,
What do you dial if there's a fire,
Dial 9-1-1.

What do you do to plan for fire,
What do you do to plan for fire,
What do you do to plan for a fire,
Have a fire drill.

What do you do if you're on fire,
What do you do if you're on fire,
What do you do if you're on fire,
Stop, drop, and roll.

Who comes in a truck if there's a fire,
Comes in a truck if there's a fire,
Comes in a truck if there's a fire.
It's the fireman!

Five Little Firefighters

Five little firefighters sit very still (hold up five fingers)
Until they saw a fire on top of a hill
Number one rings the bell, ding dong. (Bend down thumb)
Number two pulls his big boots on. (Bend down pointer finger)
Number three climbs on the truck right away. (Bend down middle finger)
Number four joins him -- no one can wait.  (Bend down ring finger)
Number five drives the truck to the fire.  (Bend down little finger)
The big yellow flames go higher and higher. (Spread arms)
WHOO--OO!  Whooo--oo!  Hear the fire truck say  (Imitate siren)
As all the cars get out of the way
Shhhh! goes the water from the fire hose spout. (Rub palms together)
And quicker than a wink the fire is out!  (Clap hands)
